Privacy policy

This policy explains what data DOVEV ("we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Plain language is the goal — if anything here is unclear, contact us.

1. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account data — your email and authentication details.
• Your files — the audio and video you upload, and the transcripts, translations, and subtitles produced from them.
• Usage data — minutes processed, storage used, and basic diagnostics needed to operate and bill the service.
• Payment data — handled by our payment processor; we never store your card number.

2. How we use it

Your data is used to transcribe, translate, and subtitle your files, to maintain your account, to provide support, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your recordings or transcripts to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model.

3. How we protect it

Files are encrypted in transit (HTTPS, TLS 1.2 or newer) and at rest (AES-256), and are isolated to your account with row-level security. Full detail is on our security page.

4. How long we keep it

You control retention. When you delete a file, every derivative — media, transcript, translations, and subtitles — is purged from storage and our database within 7 days. Deleting your account removes all associated data.

5. Third parties

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the service — for example, cloud storage, transcription models, and payment processing. Each receives only the data needed for its function, under contractual confidentiality, and none may use your content for their own purposes.

6. Cookies and analytics

We set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember the choice you make below — those are required for the service to work at all.

Beyond that we'd like to use Google Analytics to understand which parts of DOVEV people actually use. It is off until you accept it: if you decline, or simply never answer, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time — use the Cookies link at the bottom of any page, or the analytics switch in Settings → Security — and turning it off clears the cookies it set.

What analytics never receives: your files, transcripts, translations, or subtitles; the contents of anything you upload; and the links you share. Share and embed links are reported as the generic page they are, never with their token, so a link you sent to one person cannot leak through our analytics.

7. Your rights

You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from your account, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA; we honour those requests.

8. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
